Go on a rafting adventure and enjoy the morning on either a Royal Gorge Trip or a Bighorn Sheep Canyon trip. Plan to arrive early by 8 a.m. as the 1st raft trips tend to leave by 9 a.m. Keep in mind, there is paperwork to fill out and life vests, wetsuits, and helmets to hand out.
Set up camp and start the campfire up for hamburgers.
Arrive at either 7 a.m. or 9 a.m. for an ATV Tour in the Texas Creek area, a great activity the entire family can enjoy. From the grandchildren to great grandparents, every age can participate in this outdoor adventure. Hear the Indian stories, see some interesting rock formations, and view the wildlife in the area.
Take a zipline tour. What a rush to fly across an open valley. This is not for the faint-hearted. Please note, you’ll have to walk and climb through this attraction.
This is the perfect time of day to take a segway tour around Cañon City.
Horseback ride in the hills behind Cañon City, where the peace and quiet will embrace you.
Head home and call in sick so you can rest up from the weekend and have time to plan your next fun adventure in the Royal Gorge Region.
Enjoy float trips, kayaking, whitewater parks for kayakers, river surfers and SUPs, or convenient fishing access points and high alpine lakes.
The Central Mountains have the highest concentration of 14ers in Colorado, old mining roads and hundreds of miles of trails.
Explore the history of the area, visit historic townsites, on interpretive mining history trails, or visit a dinosaur museum.
Experience an adrenaline-filled activity at a zipline or adventure parks, or spend a day relaxing day with a round of golf or soaking in a natural hot springs.
Go skiing or snowboarding at Monarch Mountain or Ski Cooper, find miles of groomed trails for snowmobiling, XC skis, snowshoes or fat bike.
